Reason for using woodchip/mulch, The nutritional status of woodchip/mulch is very, very low this means that weeds that generate on top the woodchip/mulch regularly fail (remember wind blown weed seed is the main contaminate of mulch products) also use a black landscaping mulch fabric below it to greater the effect of it stopping weeds going up though the mulch. The chunky nature of the woodchip/mulch product means that it is long lasting but when it does eventually break down it will turn into a high quality soil conditioner that can be incorporated into your top soil.
Locally recycled made from hardwood, softwood and composted woodchip.
Can be used for flower beds, path’s, car park, riding arenas and general surfacing.
The recommended depth is 30mm to 75mm depending on what your using it, you should allow a 10% settlement factor. One cubic metre of woodchip/mulch will cover an area of approximately 13 square metres.
The woodchip/mulch comes in 1 cubic metre bags, by the trailer load which is approximately 2 cubic metres or by large lorries for bulk loads.
